Individual Speech-Language Therapy

One on One sessions with an SLP or SLP-A

Speech-Language Therapy sessions are individual (1:1) or small group (availability permitting) sessions, where the child works directly with a speech-language pathologist (SLP) or speech-language pathologist-assistant (SLP-A) to address key skills in the areas of speech and communication.
SLP sessions can be offered weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Consultation

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) can be a fantastic tool for children who have difficulty expressing themselves using spoken language. UP partners with Chelsey Chichak of Mainland Speech and Hearing to provide expert support to our clients who require a different approach to expressive communication.
UP can support families through the AAC process. In addition, many of our staff are already trained in using AAC approaches and familiar with AAC systems and software, which means your child can get started right away in learning to communicate effectively.

Speech Language Consultation

Add on to our in-clinic intervention program

Speech-Language consultation services are an add on to our in-clinic early intervention program where the SLP is scheduled to come into the child’s regularly occurring sessions with your clinical team. Suggestions will be jointly determined in support of current programming and practiced through each session with your child’s Behaviour Interventionist.

This consultation model is a cost-effective way to embed Speech-Language therapy strategies into your child’s regular sessions at UP Clinic.

Speech-Language Consultation typically occurs for .5hr or 1hr per month. Learn more about our in-clinic early intervention program using the link below.
